Governor's Blue Ribbon Task Force on Human Rights

Function:

Governor Perpich charged the task force with studying the operation and performance of the Department of Human Rights, particularly in regard to the department's continuing and escalating backlog of open cases.

History:

According to their report, "the task force met as a whole at least once each month between August [1983] and February 1984, and twice per month, on average, in smaller study groups." The task force held two public hearings.
