Migrant Affairs Task Force

Function: Advise the Minnesota state agencies on matters relating to plans, programs, services, and facilities for migrant and seasonal farm workers and their families in Minnesota; assist the Migrant Services Coordinator in the development of coordinated programs among state departments and other public and private providers to services to migrants.
History:
Gov. Wendell Anderson created the task force, and the position of Migrant Services Coordinator, in 1974 via executive order. In 1976, he issued another executive order abolishing the task force and the Migrant Services Coordinator, and creating the position of Spanish Speaking People Liaison.
Membership:
Members are appointed by the commissioner of administration and include: Representatives of public and private service delivery agencies, the migrant community, employers of migrant and seasonal farm workers, and concerned members of the public.
