Westlaw Access for Legislators and Staff
Would law review articles be the perfect resource for your latest research? Or maybe you are looking for case law or state by state statutes on a hot topic?
The Library has received frequent requests over the years for access to Westlaw for legislators and staff, but our contract and high cost has prohibited us from sharing our passwords or providing access to all legislative users. But the good news is we were finally able to work out an economical arrangement with Thomson Reuters. Legislators and staff can now “check-out” from the library a Westlaw password for a week at a time.
You will have access to the statutes annotated for all 50 states, the US Code Annotated, case law, law reviews, 50 state surveys and more. You will not be able to go beyond the resources that are part of our contract--the bill tracking component and briefs are two examples of what is outside this contract--but Library staff can get you anything you need outside the plan. (Don't worry--you can't accidentally incur charges!)
