The committee considers a resolution, SF 1092, opposing the expansion of the federal no child left behind regulations to high schools (00:25:06). They also review a bill, SF 1244, that would allow Minnesota to opt out of the federal plan if certain changes aren't made to the program (01:35:00). The committee also considered a bill providing an income tax refund for contributions made to hire classroom teachers (00:05:00). Another measure also allowed teachers to deduct contributions made to cover education expenses (00:00:00).
