    Agenda: Every year the Department of Finance releases a November and February budget forecast, which propels the process for setting and adjusting the state budget. In 2002, the Legislature decided when assessing future budget trends, inflation should be excluded in caluclating anticipated state expenditures. The 2002 decision remains controversial, and the Finance Committee considers a proposal to add inflation in the expenditure calculations when determing the state budget forecast.
