Session Notes: He won the election and was sworn in on the first day of session. His election was contested by Dr. Henry Wuerzinger on the grounds that Reed was a National Guard officer which made him ineligible to serve. The Election Contests Committee recommended that the contest be dismissed since Wuerzinger failed to serve notice of the contested election to Reed. The House adopted their recommendation.
