Health Facilities Advisory Council

Function:

To make recommendations to the state commissioner of health and to assist in the establishment and amendment of rules and standards authorized by sections 144.50 to 144.58.

Membership:

Nine members shall be appointed. This council shall consist of four members to be appointed annually from the membership of the Minnesota hospital association by the board of trustees thereof, one of whom shall be the superintendent of a hospital operated by a county or other local government unit. Two members shall be doctors of medicine appointed annually from the Minnesota state medical association by the council of the Minnesota state medical association. the commissioner of public welfare, or a person from the department of public welfare designated by him, shall be a member of the council, and the commissioner of public welfare shall designate a member who will represent the Minnesota county welfare boards. The ninth member of the council shall be a public member as defined in section 214.02, and shall be appointed by the governor to sere at his pleasure.
