Office of Strategic and Long Range Planning
Also known as:
Active dates:1991 - April, 2003
The commissioner of administration is the state planning officer and is responsible for the coordination, development, assessment, and communication of information, performance measures, planning, and policy concerning the state's future.
In 2003, the Office of Strategic and Long Range Planning was abolished as part of a wide-ranging restructuring of state government. However, most of the 50 staff continue doing their same tasks under the Department of Administration. Please see agency notebook for newspaper articles relating to the changes.
The Office of Geographic and Demographic Analysis under the Department of Administration appears to handle some of the duties of the former planning office.
