Minnesota Agencies

The Office of Enterprise Sustainability manages state agency sustainability metrics and a reporting system, including public dashboard for Minnesotans to track progress toward sustainability goals; helps state agencies overcome challenges they may have reaching sustainability goals; educates agencies on sustainability best practices, tools and resources through a network of agency sustainability coordinators and the Workgroups; assists agencies with development of their sustainability plans; administers the Productivity Loan Fund for the Productivity Loan Committee; and publishes an annual report.

The Office of Enterprise Sustainability (OES) was created by Governor Mark Dayton in 2017 by Executive Order 17-12 and housed within the Department of Administration. The Sustainability Steering Team sets priorities for the OES and is composed of the Governor, four permanent agency members of Administration, Commerce, Natural Resources, and the Pollution Control Agency, and three rotating agency members selected to represent various aspects of agencies. Governor Tim Walz provided for the continuation of the office during his term by Executive Order 19-27. The 2023 state government finance bill (Laws of Minn. 2023, chap. 62 - HF1830) codified the Office of Enterprise Sustainability in law.
