Prescription Monitoring Program Advisory Task Force

Function: The task force advises the Minnesota State Board of Pharmacy on the development and operation of the prescription drug monitoring program including, but not limited to: technical standards for electronic prescription drug reporting; proper analysis and interpretation of prescription monitoring data; an evaluation process for the program; and criteria for the unsolicited provision of prescription monitoring data by the board to prescribers and dispensers.
History: In 2014, the name of the Prescription Electronic Reporting Advisory Committee was changed to the Prescription Monitoring Program Advisory Task Force.

2014 Minn. Laws Chap. 286 Art. 7 Sec. 4 extended the group's expiration date to June 30, 2018. But, 2014 Minn. Laws Chap. 291 Art. 2 Sec. 3 states that this task force does not expire.
Advisory to:
Membership: At least one representative of: the Department of Health; the Department of Human Services; each health-related licensing board that licenses prescribers; a professional medical association, which may include an association of pain management and chemical dependency specialists; a professional pharmacy association; a professional nursing association; a professional dental association; a consumer privacy or security advocate; a consumer or patient rights organization; and an association of medical examiners and coroners.
