Text: The Minnesota House Queer Legislators Caucus was an undeniable force throughout the most
consequential two-year session in state history. In the 2023 legislative session, the Queer
Legislators Caucus led efforts to advance equity and create policies to ensure school facilities
across the state had funding to create gender-inclusive restrooms. They were relentless in the
pursuit of making Minnesota a refuge state for our LGBTQIA2S+, transgender, and nonbinary
community. Building on their momentum, legislators diligently pursued legislation in the 2024
session to expand support for trans youth, secure grants for LGBTQIA2S+ small businesses and
strengthening protections for our most vulnerable community members, and more!

Minnesota is a leader in LGBTQIA2S+ rights and with the strong leadership of the Minnesota
Queer Legislators Caucus, our state will continue to protect LGBTQIA2S+ people from
discrimination and violence.

The list below highlights some of the accomplishments we delivered from our legislative
agenda.

Expanding Healthcare
• Health Insurance Plans Required to Cover Gender-Affirming Care
• Expanding Access to PEP/PREP

Empowering Families and Survivors
• Logan's Law: Ending the Need for Second-Parent Adoption
• Task Force on Preventing Violence Against Latine Women, Girls, and

LGBTQIA2S+ People
• Secured Investments for Transgender homeless shelter site analysis
• Ending the LGBTQIA2S+ Panic Defense

Education
• Comprehensive Health Education
• Updating all Minnesota Statutes to use Gender-Neutral Spousal Language

Workforce
• $1 Million Investment in LGBTQIA2S+ Workforce Development

The Minnesota Queer Legislators Caucus reaffirms our unwavering commitment to the safety, dignity,
and equal rights of all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender
expression. It remains imperative our LGBTQIA2S+ community is protected under our state laws and
soon our state constitution. Minnesota's diverse and vibrant LGBTQIA2S+ community enriches every
aspect of the state and deserves a multifaceted approach to addressing our needs and ensuring we can
live free from discrimination and violence, living our fullest lives.
