Secretary of State Documents - 1900-1990

The Office of the Secretary of State is the repository for many official records of the state of Minnesota. The Legislative Reference Library and the Office of the Secretary of State, through a grant from the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund, digitized 17 sets of official Secretary of State documents and the card files used to find them, providing access to this rich resource of official state information from 1900 to 1990.

Searching

Card text search: The cards serve as a finding aid for documents in this collection. There are 17 sets of cards, each encompassing a different topic (e.g. appointments, official documents of cities and towns, etc.). Individual cards contain the name of the item(s) filed, the date of filing, and the document number. Search across all cards by keyword, or limit your keyword search to a specific card group.

Many documents are handwritten or difficult to read. As a result, the searchable text on cards and documents has limitations and may not be accurate.
