Opinion Polls

The Minnesota Legislative Reference Library maintains a collection of opinion polls, dating back to the 1960s. The Minnesota Poll, conducted by the Star Tribune along with other media organizations, encompasses over half the collection. Other notable polls include the St. Cloud Daily Times Poll, St. Paul Dispatch Poll, KSTP Poll, and St. Paul Pioneer Press Poll.

The polls are digitally available and searchable by year, topic, and/or poll name in the database below. Search results will include the poll headline which offers more detail about each poll. Access to the full text of each poll is restricted to the legislative network.

Though not included in this database, the St. Cloud State University Statewide Survey (1984-2022) is available in the university's digital repository, and the House State Fair Poll (1993-present) and Senate State Fair Poll (1988-present) are available in the Library's collection.

Search tips:

• Headline searches cover poll headlines, but not the full text of polls.
• Selecting more than one year, topic/person, or poll will return results that match any of the search criteria specified (i.e. OR search)
• Combining a two or more search fields will return results that match only the search criteria specified (i.e. AND search)
