Minn. Stat. 114D.47 allows the Minn. Board of Water and Soil Resources, via board order, to establish alternative timelines or content for the priority funding plan.
On June 24, 2020, the Minn. Board of Water and Soil Resources Board members approved board order #20-27 changing the due date for updating the Nonpoint Priority Funding Plan from July 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021.
On December 16, 2021, the Minn. Board of Water and Soil Resources Board members approved board order #21-60 changing the due date for updating the Nonpoint Priority Funding Plan from December 31, 2021 to December 31, 2023.
On December 14, 2023, the Minn. Board of Water and Soil Resources Board members approved board order #23-65 changing the requirement for a revision of the Nonpoint Priority Funding Plan by December 31, 2023 to a status report at the board's June 2024 meeting, scheduled for June 26, 2024.
From the June 2024 Minn. Board of Water and Soil Resources meeting: "Nonpoint Priority Funding Plan Update - The original Nonpoint Priority Funding Plan (NPFP) was written in 2014 and updated in 2016 and 2018 as required by statute. A change to statute in 2019 allows BWSR to establish alternative content and timelines for updating the NPFP. In 2021, BWSR established a framework for updating the NPFP; and in 2023, the Board directed staff to revise the NPFP and to provide an update to the Board in June 2024. Staff have been working with an interagency team and are making good progress on the NPFP revision. Staff will present an update on the revision status and a proposed timeline for completion."
