Earlier, a report had been due January 15, 2012 and by November 15 in every odd-numbered year. Due date changed to Oct. 15 in even-numbered years (2017 Sp. Sess.1. Chap. 3. Art. 3, Sec. 104), with an effective date of January 1, 2018, and a first report due under the new due date on October 15, 2018. Amended statute language also redefined mandated report from "status of guideway projects" to "report on comprehensive transit finance in the metropolitan area," and stated that this section applies in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington counties.
That change also moved responsibility for the report from MnDOT to the Met Council.
The statute was renumbered, from 174.93 Subd. 2; to 473.4485.
The October 15, 2020 due date was extended to February 15, 2021 by 2020 Minn. Laws Chap. 74 Art. 1 Sec. 9.
