Description: Report with results of a comprehensive study of speed limits adopted in cities without conducting an engineering and traffic investigation since 2019, to determine whether the cities are setting the appropriate speed limit for the roadway based on engineering principles, safety considerations, and traffic flow, including: (1) an evaluation of roadway design and characteristics; (2) an analysis of traffic volume and patterns; (3) an examination of crash data and safety records; (4) a review of existing speed studies and surveys; (5) any discrepancies between established speed limits and engineering recommendations; and (6) recommendations for upward adjustments to city speed limits necessary to align with engineering principles and enhance roadway safety and design.
