    Description: Report on the status and outcomes of research and initiatives in this paragraph: (1) research, education and extension activities focusing on producer needs and implementation of an outreach strategy; (2) research and outreach on production of renewable energy from Minnesota biomass resources; (3) organic agronomic, horticultural, livestock, and food systems research, education, and outreach, and purchase of state-of-the-art laboratory, planting, tilling, harvesting, and processing equipment; and (4) research efforts that demonstrate a renewed emphasis on the needs of the state's agriculture community, with specific topic areas prioritized.
