Note: In conducting the assessment, the Minn. Dept. of Public Safety - Fire Marshal Division shall hold in-person and virtual stakeholder listening sessions with the Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association, the Minnesota State Fire Department Association, the Minnesota Professional Firefighters Association, the League of Minnesota Cities, the Minnesota Association of Townships, and other statewide and regional associations identified by the Dept. of Public Safety. In conducting the assessment and making recommendations for proposed changes, the Minn. Dept. of Public Safety - Fire Marshal Division shall consider the current diverse nature of the fire service in Minnesota, including the various staffing models employed and the geographical makeup of the state. The fire marshal may request onetime funding to complete this assessment through the Fire Service Advisory Committee.
