She is "co-founder [with Susan Vue and KaYing Yang] of Maiv-PAC, the nation's first-ever Hmong American political action committee." (Minnesota Public Radio, October 5, 2016)

She is one of the first two Hmong American woman elected to the Minnesota House, along with Rep. Samantha Vang. (League of Women Voters, Minnesota Firsts for Women)
