He moved to North Dakota at a young age with his parents. After a brief time they moved to St. Paul, Minnesota.
He ran unsuccessfully for Minnesota Lieutenant Governor in 1937. He lost to C. Elmer Andersen.
He served as King Boreas XVII in the 1953 St. Paul Winter Carnival.
He was a member of the Kiwanis and the Osman Temple Shrine.
He died at home in St. Paul, Minnesota. His funeral was held at Hamline United Methodist Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was buried in Roselawn Cemetery.
