Session Notes: Her margin of victory over Donna Bergstrom was 16,445 votes. A discretionary recount was requested by Bergstrom. A recount of one precinct occurred. After the recount McEwen was declared the winner by 16,442 votes. Senator Jen McEwen, and Representatives Jennifer Schultz and Liz Olson's elections were contested by their opponents. The court dismissed the case but an appeal was filed on January 15, 2021. On June 9, 2021, the Minnesota Supreme Court affirmed the decision of the district court.
