She is one of the first two Hmong American woman elected to the Minnesota House, along with Rep. Kaohly Vang Her. (League of Women Voters, Minnesota Firsts for Women)

She is the second youngest woman to be elected to the Minnesota Legislature at the time of her swearing in.
