Toensing, the Fifteenth Legislature of Minnesota, 1873 and the Minnesota Legislative Manuals, 1871, 1873, 1883, and 1885 list his middle initial as H. Minnesota Place Names lists Henry. The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1872 lists both H. and B.
He came to Minnesota in 1858. He moved to Litchfield, Minnesota in 1872.
He was one of the founders of Greenleaf Village, Meeker County, Minnesota. It was named for him. Greenleaf Lake in Meeker County was also named for him.
