Toensing lists his birth year as 1859. The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1911 and 1913 list 1873. The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1911 also states that he has been engaged in the drug business in Brainerd for 33 years. Thus the Toensing year is more likely to be accurate, otherwise he would've been about 4 years old when he started in the drug business.
He moved to Brainerd, Minnesota in 1877.
He died in Crow Wing County, Minnesota.
