Toensing and The Fifteenth Legislature of Minnesota, 1873 list his last name as Colquhoun. The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1873 lists both Colquhoun and Colquhonn.
He came to Minnesota in 1850. He went to South America in 1853. He returned to Minnesota in 1856. After his service in the Army he moved to Steele County, Minnesota.
