Toensing lists Fair Haven as his city of residence and the Visual Resources database from the Minnesota Historical Society lists St. Charles; according to Minnesota Place Names, they aren't in Olmsted County. The History of Olmsted County lists Quincy.

He moved to Mankato, Minnesota around 1864.

He was killed by falling boards in a lumber yard in Mankato, Minnesota.
