GENERAL NOTES

In Saude og Nesheringer i Amerika it says his family came to America in 1853 and moved to Fillmore County, Minnesota in 1856. The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1875 and his 1919 obituary agree that he settled in Minnesota in 1856. However in his father's obituary it says they came to Boone County, Illinois in 1856.

He moved to Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota in May 1872. (Moen, J.K. Saude og Nesheringer i Amerika)

He helped establish the Bergens Church of the Norwegian Synod in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. (Moen, J.K. Saude og Nesheringer i Amerika)
