In one entry in the Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1874 it appears that an S was typed, then an H was typed over it for his first initial, making his first initial look like a B. Everywhere else H. is listed.
He moved to Wisconsin in 1853. He came to Minnesota in 1854. He was one of the first settlers in Elgin, Wabasha County, Minnesota. He moved to Eyota, Minnesota in 1859. He later moved to Kasson, Minnesota. (The Fifteenth Legislature of Minnesota. St. Paul: Press Printing Company, 1873)
