GENERAL NOTES
He was a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.
He was chairman of the Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement.
He unsuccessfully ran for mayor of Minneapolis in 1957. He unsuccessfully ran against Clark MacGregor in the 1968 race for the third congressional district despite living 500 feet into the fifth district. He received an attorney general's opinion allowing him to run in the third district.
He died of a heart attack. He is buried at Fort Snelling National cemetery.
