GENERAL NOTES
He grew up in the Twin Cities area in Minnesota. He lived in Eden Prairie, Minnesota before he moved to Owatonna, Minnesota around 1995. He moved to Austin, Texas in 2000.
He switched from Republican to Independent on May 18, 1999. He did not caucus with Republican or DFL members. He sued the House speaker about staffing because he didn't have access to partisan staff after he left the caucus.
He announced he would not seek reelection on August 25, 1999.
He ran unsuccessfully for the Minnesota House of Representatives in the 1994 election. He lived in Eden Prairie at that time.
He was the inventor of the board game Sequence.
Religion provided by a Star Tribune article on 2/6/2000. He's listed as a Baptist who converted from Catholicism.
