    He was a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.

    He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Zurah Shrine Temple.

    A portion of Minnesota Highway 60 was named after him. It was called the George Mann Memorial Highway.

    He had a heart attack on April 29, 1984 and went into a coma. He died at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His funeral was held on June 7, 1984 at First United Methodist Church in Windom, Minnesota. He was buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Windom, Minnesota.

    He was a member of Windom Methodist Church.
