    He moved from Illinois to St. Anthony, Minnesota in 1849. He moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota in 1855 or 1856. He moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1870. He then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana.

    Stearns County, Minnesota was named after him.

    He was the last survivor of the founders of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Minnesota. (Minnesota Place Names)
