The Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1881 lists his last name as Redpath. The Minnesota Historical Society's Visual Resources Database, and his obituary in the New York Times and the Minneapolis Journal list Ridpath. The Minnesota Journal of the Senate, 1858 lists both Redpath and Ridpath.
Toensing lists his birth year as 1821(?). The New York Times Obituary lists him as being 84 years old when he died. That would make his birth year around 1817.
He moved to Indiana when he was 20 years old.
He died in Spokane, Washington.
