                                    He came to Minneapolis, Minnesota in October 1880.

He was elected a Minneapolis Municipal Court Special Judge in the 1886 election but didn't serve because the Supreme Court ruled his election was unconstitutional and void.
He ran unsuccessfully as the Democratic party endorsed candidate for County Attorney in the 1888 election.
He was a member of the Masons and Elks.
