He came to Minneapolis, Minnesota in June 1883.

Toensing lists his last name as Myers and the Legislative Manual of 1897 lists Meyers.

According to self-reported data on legislators by religion, he is the first Jewish lawmaker to serve in the Minnesota Legislature.

His funeral services were held August 13, 1952 at Temple Israel (Star Tribune, August 12, 1952). He is buried at Temple Israel Memorial Park.
