GENERAL NOTES

He moved to Boston, Massachusetts when he was 14 years old. He moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1845. He moved to California in 1850. Around 1852 he returned to Dedham, Massachusetts. He moved to Yucatan, Houston County, Minnesota in 1855. He moved to Houston Township, Minnesota in 1861.

He bought and ran a stagecoach line from Boston to Dedham. Later he served as a railroad conductor between these two cities. He also worked in a hotel. In New Orleans he was involved in the mercantile business. He was involved with mining in California. He built a flour mill and distillery in Yucatan, Minnesota. He was involved in the hotel business and later farmed in Houston, Minnesota.
