He was on the staff of the Fargo Daily Argus from 1880 to 1884, a cashier and director of the State Bank of Warroad, Minnesota from 1904 to 1906, and he organized the Securtiy State Bank of Beaudette Minnesota in February 1906. (Little Sketches of Big Folks, Polk, 1907)
Rep. Berg was president of the Spooner bank. He moved to St. Paul in 1913. He was a delegate to the Republican National convention twice. He was grand master of the Masonic order in 1918. (Minneapolis Morning Tribune, February 14, 1920)
