She ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party endorsement for the United States House of Representatives in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District in the 1992 election. She lost to Gerry Sikorski.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Blaine on Tuesday, April 22. Visitation at 10 a.m. followed by mass at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Duelm, Minnesota.
