An agency of the Minnesota Supreme Court. The Board oversees the lawyers professional responsibility office, which investigates complaints of alleged lawyer misconduct and prosecutes disciplinary actions against lawyers. The Board shall prepare and submit to the MN Supreme Court an annual report covering the operation of the lawyer discipline and disability system
Pursuant to Rules 4c and 5b, Rules on Lawyers Professional Responsibility (RLPR), the Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board and the Director of the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility report annually on the operation of the professional responsibility system in Minnesota.
The Board consists of 23 members (14 lawyers and 9 non-lawyer public members) appointed by the Minnesota Supreme Court.
The Board has a 5 member Executive Committee, charged with oversight of the Director's Office.
Richey B. Reavill was the first full-time director of the State Board of Professional Responsibility.
Current director is Susan Humiston (2016 - ).
