Governor's Task Force on Insurance and Health

Function: The task force will assess how insurance programs (and insurers) could provide positive incentives for people to learn about and adopt healthful lifestyles; identify primary preventive services appropriate for coverage in health insurance plans; identify ways in which insurers can meaningfully participate in the process of educating the public regarding the association between lifestyle practices and personal health.
History:
The Task Force was required to advise the governor of its progress on February 15, 1979, and make final recommendations by 1 July 1979.
Membership:
15 members; appointed by governor. The Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of health is designated as the Governor's Representative on the Task Force and as the Chairperson of the Task Force. The Minnesota Department of Health shall provide staff support to the Task Force.
