Governor's Design Team

Function: Volunteer design teams, consisting of architects, landscape architects, city planners and other resource people, assist Minnesota communities in solving problems and improving their environment (industrial, commercial, cultural, educational, residential, recreational). Sponsored and supported by Minnesota State Planning Agency's Office of Environmental Resource Development and the Minnesota Society American Institute of Architects.
History:
Began in 1982 as part of the Governor's Quality Environment Project. Later, the design team volunteers received administrative support from the State Planning Agency's Office of Environmental Resource Development and the University of Minnesota' Center for Community Studies, and, eventually, the Minnesota Society American Institute of Architects.
