Employment Security Advisory Council

Function: The council aided the Commissioner of Employment Security in formulating policies and discussing problems relating to the administration of Minnesota Statutes sections 268.03-268.24 and in assuring impartiality and freedom from political influence in the solution of such problems
History:
The authority to create state and local advisory councils related to employment and security had been in the Minnesota Statutes since at least 1936, but 1967 was the first time that members of an advisory council were listed in the Minnesota Legislative Manual.
Membership:
Appointed by the Governor; composed of an equal number of employer and employee representatives who selected because of their vocation, employment or affiliation and of such members representing the general public as the governor may designate
