The task force will develop a plan and make recommendations to end subminimum wages for people with disabilities, on or before Aug. 1, 2025.
By February 15, 2023, the task force shall submit to the chairs and ranking minority members of the committees and divisions in the senate and house of representatives with jurisdiction over employment and wages and over health and human services a report with recommendations to eliminate by August 1, 2025, the payment of subminimum wage, and any changes to statutes, laws, or rules required to implement the recommendations of the task force.
The task force will start meeting in February 2022. The task force shall conclude their duties and expire on March 31, 2024, however the task force must include in the February 2023 mandated report a recommendation concerning continuing the task force beyond its scheduled expiration.
The task force will have 19 members who reflect the diverse backgrounds of the people of Minnesota. The term of office is from Jan. 1, 2022 to March 31, 2024.
