Function: The Subcommittee was established to study issues relating to government data practices and individuals' personal data privacy rights and to review legislation impacting data practices, data security, and personal data privacy.
History:
The LCC Subcommittee on Data Practices was established by the Legislative Coordinating Commission (LCC) in 2019 to replace the Legislative Commission on Data Practices after it expired that year. The LCC Subcommittee was in place until January 1, 2021.
Membership:
The Subcommittee consists of four members of the senate, including two majority caucus members appointed by the majority leader and two minority caucus members appointed by the minority leader; and four members of the house of representatives, including two majority caucus members appointed by the speaker of the house and two minority caucus members appointed by the minority leader.
