Function:

The select committee will review federal and state responses to the COVID-19 pandemic to date and will assess policy changes needed moving forward.

History:

Speaker Melissa Hortman announced the formation of this select committee on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. The committee will meet on an as-needed basis, with the first committee meeting held the week of May 18 to discuss working conditions for nurses.

The select committee's first meeting was held Tuesday, May 19, 2020. It met three more times in 2020: June 5, July 8, and September 9.
Membership: Melissa Hortman (Chair); Ryan Winkler; Kurt Daudt; Lyndon Carlson; Patrick Garofalo

The committee will also have five rotating members, three majority party members and two minority party members, selected by leadership and depending upon issue area.
