Office of School Trust Lands

Function:

This office advises the governor, Executive Council, commissioner of natural resources, and the Legislative Permanent School Fund Commission on the management of school trust lands, and proposes legislative changes to the Legislative Permanent School Fund Commission that will improve asset allocation of school trust lands.

History:

This office was established by the legislature in 2012 in conjunction with the reorganization of the Legislative Permanent School Fund Commission, to which this office reports.

Duties of the School Trust Lands Director are outlined in Minn. Stat. 127A.353, subd. 4.
