Senate Select Committee on Health Care Consumer Access and Affordability

Function:

This Select Committee will explore new ideas to improve health care in Minnesota. The committee doesn’t have authority to consider and adopt legislation, but will present ideas to the Health and Human Services budget committee in 2018.

History:

The Select Committee met for the first time on July 12, 2017. Senator Scott Jensen was chosen to chair the committee, which was tasked with developing ideas to make Minnesota health care more affordable, and to present its ideas and findings to the Health and Human Services budget committee in 2018. The committee met six additional times between August and October 2017, and twice in January 2018. It's last meeting was held on March 8, 2018.
