Office on the Economic Status of Women Advisory Committee

Function: The committee advises the Office on the Economic Status of Women on key issues and priorities, and provides suggestions and responses to OESW on current and emerging issues that pertain to the economic status of women in Minnesota.
History:
The 2017 Special Session omnibus state government appropriations bill, SF1/Chapter 4, eliminated funding for the staff at the Office on the Economic Status of Women thus closing the office as of July 1, 2017. The legislation left open the option for the Legislative Coordinating Commission (LCC) to use central administrative staff to support the work of the Economic Status of Women Advisory Committee.
Membership:
The OESW Advisory Committee consists of two members of the House of Representatives (one member appointed by the Speaker and one member appointed by the Minority Leader) and two members of the Senate (one member appointed by the Majority Leader and one member appointed by the Minority Leader).
2015-2016 members were: Representative Kelly Fenton; Representative Linda Slocum; Senator Carla Nelson; Senator Melissa Wiklund
