Capitol Restoration Working Group

Active dates:2007 - 2009
Function: To consider issues relating to renovation and possible expansion of the Capitol building, phasing strategies relating to renovation of the Capitol, and related Capitol complex planning issues. The process must include consideration of as many options as feasible relating to renovation of the Capitol and related Capitol complex buildings.
History: The group's expiration date is January 1, 2009.
Membership: 20 members: six members of the House of Representatives, including two members of the minority caucus, appointed by the Speaker; six members of the Senate, including two members of the minority caucus, appointed by the Subcommittee on Committees of the Committee on Rules and Administration; one representative of the Minnesota Historical Society, appointed by the Executive Director of the Minnesota Historical Society; the Commissioner of Administration, or her designee; one member of the Capitol Area Planning and Architecture Board, appointed by the Chair; the Attorney General or her designee; the Governor, or his designee; the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, or his designee; and two members from organizations that represent people who are disabled, appointed jointly by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Senate Subcommittee on Committees of the Committee on Rules and Administration.
