Mental Health Practitioner Advisory Council

Function: The Advisory Council was created to advise the staff of the Mental Health Practice Office and the Minnesota Department of Health with the development of rules and procedures, with the the enforcement of laws on prohibited conduct and disciplinary action, and with remedies for violations of prohibited conduct. The council also served in an advisory capacity in the development of public education materials and activities, including outreach activities.
It was repealed in 1995. (1995 Minn. Laws Chap. 164 Sec. 35)
Membership:
9 members. Members of the advisory council are appointed by the Commissioner of Health and serve pursuant to requirements under section 15.059. Members are appointed to serve terms of four years.
Agency heads:
Members of the council shall elect from among its members a chair and a vice-chair to serve for one year or until a successor is elected and qualifies.
